However, this hasn’t always necessarily been the case at luhmen d’arc’s regular Bondage Jams, where things have often tended to follow rather conventional, heteronormative patterns – and that certainly doesn’t work for everyone.

That’s why there is the FLINTA BONDAGE JAM!
FLINTA stands for women (female), lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people. This special jam is primarily about creating a space where people who identify as FLINTA can simply be among themselves. Essentially, it’s very simple: anyone who does not identify as FLINTA is kindly asked not to attend.

And what exactly is a Bondage Jam?

The art of tying with ropes – known in Japanese as Shibari or Kinbaku – offers an impressive range of physical, mental and emotional experiences. Shibari has much in common with dance, yoga and meditation, and has both a performative dimension and a compelling aesthetic quality that can be deeply moving.
As a somatic practice, rope bondage opens up new possibilities for experiencing the body and developing self-awareness, often with transformative potential. Through the medium of rope, the person tying and the person being tied can creatively shape their ritualised encounter through empathetic communication and mutual surrender, exploring power and submission in a trusting, playful way, and experiencing deep connection and intensity.

A Bondage Jam is not a guided workshop; it works more like a tango milonga. People come together to tie with others, practise, enjoy sessions, exchange ideas or simply watch and gain their first impressions and experiences. There is no fixed structure. Participants are free to connect with one another openly and respectfully, get to know each other and tie together. We welcome everyone, from the curious to experienced & professional practitioners.

With an Intro for Newbies

The Newbie Intro is a short introduction for people attending for the first time. It covers the basics of rope bondage, with a particular focus on fundamental safety and consent issues, as well as how the FLINTA BONDAGE JAM is designed and who it is intended for.
